Haberdashers\' Aske\'s School for Girls
First meeting for Tuesday group
Gathering for the first time, we collected impressions of the books. Some of them were distributed, and we read the reviews, discussing the books from last year?s success! Zoe was assigned to edit the website, and make it look colourful and decorative. We also discussed the variety of books that have been shortlisted this year, and the previous books written by these authors. We are really looking forward to meeting again next week, and beginning to read and discuss the books.

This week we had another very informative meeting. We chose our final order, which goes like this:
1. Bone Sparrow
2. The Smell of Other People's Houses
3. the stars at oktober bend
4. Rail Head
5. Salt to the Sea
6. Wolf Hollow
7. Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
The top three books were very much debated in which order they should go in, and so were the bottom three, however, the end order was agreed on. Hope to see everyone next week!

SECOND MEETING... AND A NEW FACE!
Today (Thursday 4th May) we had our second meting! We had eight people attending in total, meaning that we are slowly but surely going up in numbers. We had so much fun today, and especially as we had our first debate! I call it a debate, but it was really an argument that became bigger and bigger and bigger. The argument was about the book 'Salt to the Sea', by Ruta Sepetys, and someone in our group had said that they had really enjoyed the book. This was followed by someone quickly saying that they absolutely HATED the book right from the first page..... You can imagine how that went. We have all swapped books now and I can say that we are all so excited to read new books!

Last Wednesday (26th April) we had our first meeting. It was very interesting, and six people turned up, with two missing. We each got an iPad or an electronic device that we had with us (like our phone) and searched up this website! We decided who would be the blog writer, who would funk up our website and who would design the poll. We then each got a poster with all of the book covers on them, and we went around discussing which book we thought would win based on their covers. We wrote all of our opinions on the back of the sheet, so once we have read the books I think it will be very interesting to look back and see our opinions. We are all very much looking forward to next week!
