Lowton High School
Group status: In Action!
Lowton Readers at Lowton High School is a mixed group of boys and girls from all years in the school. We are based in the Learning Reasource Centre where we are reading and discussing the nominated titles for the Carnegie Award. We are making a scrap book with reviews and pictures of alternative book covers that we feel might be more appealing. We are also creating a display of photographs and reviews to encourage others in the school to read the books. The Carnegie event has certainly created a revived awareness for reading in school with staff and students keen to read through all of the shortlisted titles.
