Miss Veneman, Readers are Leaders
Things A Bright Girl Can Do
This is an informative and engaging novel about the suffragette movement and the masses of people who were affected by it in Victorian England. The story explores the lives of 3 female protagonists and flips between their perspectives, building suspense and tension and giving the reader a strong appreciation for each character.
The novel explores the broader context of England after the Industrial Revolution, highlighting the different classes, the rampant poverty, and the patriarchal systems that governed everything. Set at the cusp of WW1, this is a fantastic work of historical fiction that everyone should read.
