Things A Bright Girl Can Do

Things A Bright Girl Can Do, written by Sally Nicholls, is an informative and engaging novel.

Things A Bright Girl Can Do is about women’s rights. It follows the story of 3 suffragettes- Evelyn, May and Nell. Evelyn wants to go to university but isn’t allowed, she becomes frustrated. When she finds the suffragettes, she realises she wants to be with them so she becomes very involved with them. Her mother is very supportive of Evelyn’s choice. One of the other suffragettes (Nell) is a girl who has grown up in a hard life, with many siblings and a poor family, she finds the suffragettes as a way to freedom for herself.

This book isn’t a book I would normally read and personally, I didn’t like it at all but it was quite interesting. I would rate this book a 2/5.
