The Poet X
Poet X by Elizabeth Acvedo was a good book. It is a novel about first love and finding your own choice. I enjoyed it and it was my favourite in the Carneigie.
It is about a teenager that has grown up in a strict household. She soon learns about her love in boys and her love in poetry. She faces a lot of struggles and wants to build a bridge between her and her mum but it just seems impossible. The only person she can seem to rely on is her twin: Twin.
I thought it was good as it was inspiring and short and easy to read. There was a lot going on and things went from good to bad quickly which I liked. I would give it 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to people who like short books.
