Where the World Ends

'Where The World Ends' by Geraldine McCaughrean had an interesting story line and was a realistic representation of the people of St. Kilda in the 18th Century. The plot was potentially very interesting - a group of males stranded on a remote island. There is also the central mystery of why they are not rescued when their townsfolk know they are there. However it was fairly tedious in the beginning and to fully understand and enjoy the book you have to persist. Overall I would only recommend it if you have the patience to read a sizable chunk of the book without any real excitement.
