The Poet X
The Poet X is a poem-novel that goes into depth about discrimination and teenage emotions. It highlights the effects that being in a non supportive household can have on a child in a beautifully written cluster of poems. This was my favourite of the eight books mainly because it was very easy to relate to her emotions. I didn't expect that having poems all the way through would work quite as much as it did. My only criticism would be that some of the poems rhymed, whereas some of the poems didn't, which sometimes made the rhythm hard to follow.
