The Poet X
This book is about a teenage girl's struggles at home and at school, with a very strict mother and a father who doesn't care about the family. Xiomara, the main character, has a twin, Xavier, who she prefers to simply call 'Twin'. She gets rebellious towards her mother's rules but wants to keep her new life a secret. She also finds out this is similar to her brother's situation but also very different. I enjoyed this book because the main character is quite relatable but not so relatable that I could tell what was going to happen. It also shows people that if they are going through a similar situation, there are ways to work through it, either on their own or with others who care.
