Group Status: We're all sweating as we're all working hard and it is 4000000 degrees. This is our last meeting and we're all very giggly today. We're finishing up our blogs and reviews and we;re sad Carnegie is over for another year.

..We're a group of quirk and different individuals who all enjoy reading, sharing our views & opinions of those books. First we have Nicole, the library's her happy place and she's obsessively tidy and always makes sure her books are in perfect condition. She's a reader as she can't draw to save her life, in her own words. Moving to Vladimir when he decides to remember or not be late. He is like a computer genius which comes in handy and when he's not reading he's gaming or eating pizza which he obviously loves, because, come on, who doesn't? Next the most sensible of the group is Sarah. Sarah is quiet and the kindest person in the world. She loves Si-Fi books and when in a bookshop she always heads to young adult without doubt. The we have Jamie who is a great asset to the team. He loves reading so much that he can hardly put books down and ends up finishing them rapidly. He is fascinated by science and loves to play video games as well. Next is Blair who is a quick, witty and sacrcastic person. This is his second year in Carnegie and he still likes to make people laugh. He is also in love with science and finds it hard to fit Carnegie in with science club where he's dissecting an eyeball. Lastly me, Amy, I find there's nothing better than being curled up watching a good film or a book. I'm a fan-girl as I adore Marvel movies, Harry Potter series, the Hobbit & Narnia and loads more. I cry at almost everything so my books and cinema tickets are crumpled with wet tears! For me a bookshop is home and the cinema, a way to escape.

I started working as a library assistant 10 years ago when I got my first job in this profession based at Duloch Library in Dunfermline. In this role I was able to gain lots of experience working with children and young people. I ran Bookbug sessions and junior and teen reading groups, worked with visiting school groups and conducted storytime and craft sessions within the library. I love this job so much that I am still in this post on a part time basis!

The other part of the week I work in the Service Development Team for Young People, within this team I cover 17 schools and 5 libraries within my area. In this role I visit all of my schools on a regular basis. Conducting class visits to the local library and get to work on many exciting projects with the schools to promote reading, such as our Big Book Brains Quiz, our Primary 7 Book Awards, and tablet taster sessions among many others. I am also a Bookbug trainer. I don’t think there could be a better job for me really.

I am also a mum of twin boys who are aged 8, I love to go swimming and absolutely adore cats (and reading).
